Urban Boyz

I love these 2 little guys!

This is the 3rd time I have photographed them in their short lives and sometimes it makes me a bit sad how fast they are growing! Can you guess how old they are? ;)
Mr E isn't much of a toddler anymore...

When I was editing this next one I was thinking how this is one of those captures when your child all of the sudden looks too grown up, don't you think? A moment when you can almost see his adult face peeking through. Ugh. I love/hate those shots! Sheesh.....Can you tell I am having a mommy moment today?? My little girlies are growing up too fast as well :(

But just when you think that little newborn couldn't be any more cute....he turns 1, grows the cutest front teeth and smiles a smile that melts your heart! (and the serious look with the big shiny eyes melts your heart, too!)
Ok, Momma "S".... don't let them grow up anymore, ok? They are perfect right now!

I know, I know... we just barely got the kids back to school. Labor Day is just around the corner. It still feels like summer (at least for a few more days here in Utah).  But it is that time again to start thinking about family portraits and Christmas cards.

Here's the dealio:
What: Holiday Portrait Mini Sessions

When: Saturday, September 27th and Saturday, October 11th
(in case of bad weather the make up days will be the first Tuesday following the original date)

Where: September in Ogden at a train track/bridge/urban location
           October in Davis county at a more traditional park/trees/leaves location
            Sessions will start in the afternoon

Cost: $200, and includes the following:

• 15 minute family portrait session for up to (6) people
• (5) high resolution images on CD with full printing rights. Perfect for gift prints!
• (25) 5x7 or 5x5 custom Christmas cards with envelopes
• (8) wallets of your favorite image
• $25 credit toward a session in 2009

What a deal, huh? :)   Call me (499-0953) or email me (heather@heathermickey.com) to reserve your spot. I am limiting the number of these sessions, so if you are interested let me know ASAP. Also, these spots will be prepay only to reserve your session time.

The "smut" Sisters

[Smut= Hollywood Gossip]

Me and my 2 sisters were treated to an fabulous extended weekend in Hollywood earlier this month. One thing we wanted to do while we were there was a sister photo shoot (but we just didn't have enough time because there was just too much fun shopping!!! Can you blame us?). So tonight we put on our heels, grabbed some 'smut' and had my hubby do a quick shoot for us. I think he did a good job, don't you?

So fun! Now... go get caught up on your smut! :)

Just the 2 of Us

This mother and son team was so fun! Easy, photogenic, happy.....and willing to be wrapped up in a blanket in 90 degree weather!

I asked if I could wrap them up in this blanket I found at IKEA months ago and I love how it made him look like he's still her little baby boy even though he's 9 years old! (well, actually he will  always be her  baby right?!) They play basketball together and I loved that they brought their ball along to capture some images of that.... This is  one of my favorite hand-holding shots ever! "Session done! Awesome job!"
Thanks A & C for the fun session! You two were so great and I could definitely see the bond you have as a mother and son. Thanks for asking me to capture you just as you are! :)

Awesome Family!

What a fun, relaxed session this was (despite them being stuck in freeway traffic for nearly an hour! yuck!). This family was so much fun and in the short time we were together I could feel how much they love each other and how much fun they have being together. (ugh! who else is having ugly Typepad issues??? ugly color and ugly and pixelation! any suggestions?)

Sometimes [er... a lot of times! hahaha!!] dads don't like having family pictures, but not Mr. D! The whole session he was the nicest guy! I have to tell you what I heard from him when I was taking this next picture. He was somewhere behind me and I heard him say in a little bit of an emotional and matter-of-fact voice "Those are the two most beautiful girls in the world right there."
Unfortunately for Ma and Pa, these 2 beautiful girls moved to Germany this week. But I hope these images will help fill up a bit of space in their hearts that might be feeling a bit empty.

I'm Back!!!

After 4 fun-filled, shop-til-you drop, [more shopping], stay up late, star searching, [even more shopping], pampered-at-the-spa days spent in Hollywood.... I am back. It was a great way to celebrate my little sister's birthday!
I photographed a darling family the night before we left and I will be posting their sneak peek soon since I am sure they are anxious! ;)

Party Time!!!

Me and me 2 sisters are leaving on a jet plane tomorrow morning to celebrate my little sister's birthday. We are staying here  and we are going to relax and play and shop and eat for 4 days! I am so excited! It has been a surprise for my little sister that the rest of us have had to keep quiet about for nearly 2months! Anyway.... just know that I will return all emails and phone calls after I return on Tuesday.

And more celebration....
On Saturday I had the opportunity to photograph a family as they celebrated their mother/grandmother/great-grandmother's  80th birthday. It was a nice night and I loved just walking around and capturing candid moments for them. Here are a few of my favorite shots of her beautiful posterity....

I *think* this is the oldest great-grandchild (correct me if I'm wrong!). Anyway, I think she is a beautiful girl with a great smile....

So this family does some farming and one of them asked me to get a picture of their favorite rooster.That was the first time I have ever been asked to photograph a rooster, but it was kinda fun!

Young & Insanely Beautiful!

Not only is she gorgeous, but so photogenic and a darling personality to boot! Check out my first senior of the class of 2009....

And can you see where she gets her good looks? I watched mom and her *baby* (I know she's a senior this year, but she will always be her mom's baby!!!) interact and it was so sweet. I hope and pray when my girls are teenagers we will have a relationship like these 2 have:
